Happy Pride Month. Every year, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month is about celebrating the dynamic and diverse LGBTQ+ community and remembering the injustices this community has endured and continues to experience. Over the years, I have written about Pride Month from numerous perspectives. We have remembered the Stonewall riots, reminded people of the importance of tolerance and celebrated the role that Bob Major played in creating the legal search industry.
This year, I am going to offer a more personal message. As we recognize and celebrate Pride Month, improving inclusion for our LGBTQ+ colleagues is more important than ever. We have the chance to build an even deeper culture of inclusion and belonging, but that will only happen if actions follow our intentions. I want to thank everyone for making Allegis Partners and MLA a place where members and allies of the LBGTQ+ community are allowed to bring their authentic self to work and celebrate their individualism in their own unique way. Special thanks to the Outlaw ERG leads, Rebecca Glatzer and Andrew Teig, and members for their impact on inclusion within our company and in the community. What makes MLA/AP special is that how you perform, how you share information and how your treat your colleagues is what matters. Everyone who does all of those things well is a star, regardless of role or location. You all – our teammates across the globe - are the reason that our aspirations on inclusion can become reality.
This month we will be celebrating Pride Month on Social Media, Compass and through the press. I encourage you to attend the webinar, After Bostock: Best Practices for Employers Protecting their Transgender Workers, on June 23 to explore how to build a workplace culture of inclusion and belonging for members of the LGBTQ+ community. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are able to celebrate and honor Pride Month throughout the month of June.
